| | Format: | At the end of this course successful learners will receive a level 2 NCFE Award certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The course is provided in conjunction with Kendal Publishing Limited a licenced NCFE centre.
NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.

The course leads to a Level 3 award in Child Care, Learning and Development from Open College Network (OCN) which is licensed by National Open College Network (NOCN), a leading UK awarding body recognised by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. Higher Education credits are available upon completion of this course.
Students may also sit examinations for the GOAL level 3 Diploma in Child Care, Learning and Development qualification. This option MUST however by arranged by the student at a local GOAL exams centre and at the students own cost.

The course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support by mail and email. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration.
Assessment
Each element of the course is followed by a written assignment, which is submitted to and marked by your tutor.
Upon successful completion of the assignments you will be eligible for certification from OCN. Please note that students assessments are moderated three times per year by NOCN. Submission dates and deadlines for moderation are fully detailed in the student study pack.
Assessment for the GOAL qualification is through one multi-choice end-test per unit [five in total]. These must be arranged by the student at a local GOAL examination centre and at the students own cost. Full details of the GOAL assessment procedure are contained in the student study pack.
This qualification can also provide evidence of underpinning knowledge towards the achievement of the Goal Level 3 National Vocational Qualification Childrens Care, Learning and Development.
